All-new Camp Quest UK
a message from Samantha

Unfortunately due to time constraints we will not be running in 2008, but rest assured we will work our hardest to get the camp up and running for 2009.

Many of you have expressed an interest in helping out, and I can now present you with the opportunities available (read document). If you would like to volunteer for a specific position, please e-mail info@camp-quest.org.uk with a covering letter and two references. All volunteers will need to be background checked (CRB enhanced disclosure if working with children), which can be arranged at a later date.

Most of the main roles require a small year-round commitment except the very core roles, which will require more of your time. However, this is a voluntary scheme and we are welcome for all the help we can get, so if you feel you can help out with just a small aspect of a role's job description, please let us know.

We intend to hold monthly meetings (via the Internet - probably with Skype), but exactly who will need to be present will be organised once the positions are filled. If it suits, we may also organise occasional meet-ups at a convenient location - we don't want our first meeting to be at camp, after all!

As we are hoping to become registered as a charity, we also require those willing to be trustees. Charity trustees are the people legally responsible for the overall management and decision-making in a charity. If you think you might be prepared for this responsibility, please read more about it here:

For those of you still unsure about the ethos of our camp, I have produced a "FAQ" file. If you having any other burning questions, please get in touch.

Best wishes to you all,

Samantha
